Ms. King is a member of the Technical Staff of the National Coordination Office for Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NITRD). As the Technical Coordinator for the High Confidence Software and Systems (HCSS) and the Social, Economic, and Workforce Implications of IT and IT Workforce Development (SEW), she is responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the interagency programs and initiatives implemented by these groups. Ms. King also provides technical writing, analytical, research, and problem solving services for a variety of NCO/NITRD activities. Ms. King joined the NCO in January 2003.
Prior to joining the NCO, Ms. King served as the Domestic and International Market Promotion Specialist for Noesis, Inc. and supported proposal writing, marketing, and business development for the firm. Ms. King also has over 15 years of expert experience in trade and foreign policy positions in the United States Government focusing on trade and development with emerging market and developing countries. From 1993-2000, Ms. King served at the United States Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service as a Confidential Assistant and later as the Director for the Office for Special Trade and Development Programs. In these positions, Ms. King was responsible for developing, coordinating, and assisting in the implementation of numerous high-level bilateral trade and development cooperative agreements, missions, and programs with emerging market Governments and international regional economic organizations on behalf of the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. Ms. King served as the USDA point-of-contact to White House and other U.S. executive branch interagency policy initiatives relating to developing countries in Africa where she was responsible for coordinating policy positions among the relevant USDA agencies, crafting issue papers, and presenting the USDA position at domestic and international seminars and meetings. Ms. King has also served as an international business consultant in the private sector since 2001, a Researcher and Professional Staff Member to the United States Senate Joint Economic Committee from 1987-1993, a Management Analyst for the United States Department of Justice from 1986-1987, and a Foreign Policy Analyst for the United States Congressional Research Service from 1985-1986.
