Technical Coordinator

Mr. Thai provides subject matter expertise, technical leadership, management, and guidance to the Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NITRD) Program including identifying opportunities for coordination and collaboration among the NITRD Agencies. He currently coordinates the activities of the Human Computer Interaction and Information Management (HCI&IM) Interagency Working Group (IWG) and assists with the Smart Cities and Communities task force. His activities include attending and participating in relevant conferences and workshops and organizing monthly meetings. Mr. Thai also assists in the writing and editing of technical reports and planning documents (e.g., workshop reports, responses to OSTP and PCAST inquiries, and the annual supplement to the President’s Budget).

Prior to joining the NCO, Mr. Thai served as a Project Manager for the DHS Federal Protective Service (FPS). As a Project Manager supporting the Information Technology Division (ITD) he was responsible for managing the Post Tracking System (PTS), which is a web-based application that provides time and attendance as well as identity verification for FPS Protective Security Officers (PSO). Prior to FPS he served as a Business Analyst for the Department of Education where his responsibilities included documenting requirements, user acceptance testing, and project management activities.

Mr. Thai holds a B.S. in Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) from George Mason University. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), SAFe Agilist, and ITIL v3 certified.
