Beth S. Linas, PhD, MHS
Technical Coordinator, Health Information Technology Research and Development (Health IT R&D) Interagency Working Group (IWG)

Dr. Linas provides subject matter expertise, technical leadership and management, and guidance to the NITRD program on Health Information Technology (Health IT). She supports this group through coordination of monthly meeting and workshop planning, as well as identifies opportunities for coordination and collaboration within the NITRD program. Dr. Linas supports the Health IT coordinators in writing and editing technical reports and planning documents.

Beth is an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the Directorate for Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE) working with the Smart and Connected Health and Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research programs. In these roles, Beth assistants in crafting program solicitations, organizing and managing review panels, and supports the development of multi-agency workshops. Additionally, as an AAAS Fellow, Beth created the AAAS Sci on the Fly Podcast, a new communication platform to spark public dialogue around science and science policy. Her research and policy interests include the application of mobile technologies to improve public health (mHealth), specifically around real-time identification of social and behavioral patterns of individuals at risk for infectious diseases.

Dr. Linas completed her B.S at Brandeis University and her Masters in Health Science and PhD The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
