The Information Integrity R&D (IIRD) Interagency Working Group (IWG) identifies research gaps, defines future research directions, enables opportunities for interagency collaborations and investments, encourages public-private partnerships, and disseminates research results.

 

Overview

The Information Integrity Research and Development Interagency Working Group (IIRD IWG) was formed in 2021 to provide a forum for interagency coordination on research and development investments in information integrity. The IIRD IWG will identify research gaps, define future research directions, enable opportunities for interagency collaborations and investments, encourage public-private partnerships, and disseminate research results.

Current Activities

  • The IIRD IWG has published a Request For Information on Federal priorities for Information Integrity Research and Development. Comments should be submitted to IIRD-RFI@nitrd.gov, no later than May 15, 2022.
  • The IIRD IWG is developing a strategic plan covering government-wide research, development, and coordination on information integrity to better understand the full information ecosystem, design strategies for preserving information integrity and mitigating the effects of manipulation, support information awareness and education, and foster a multi-disciplinary and collaborative research environment.
