Overview

The National Strategic Computing Reserve (NSCR) Pilot Program Office is an initiative to envision a pathway for rapid access to advanced computing capabilities in times of national crisis. Inspired by the model of the Strategic National Stockpile, the NSCR aims to support public sector needs by coordinating access to high-performance computing (HPC), cloud resources, and technical expertise.

Key Goals

  • Preparedness: Build a standby infrastructure with pre-positioned resources and pre-approved access protocols.
  • Agility: Ensure computing capabilities can be deployed and scaled swiftly.
  • Partnerships: Leverage federal, academic, and commercial computing assets through public-private collaboration.
  • Governance: Establish a clear organizational structure for managing NSCR assets and requests.
